4B Braime Heavy Duty Whirligig®

The Heavy Duty (HD) Whirligig is a fully guarded target for easy mounting of motion sensors. It is suitable for use with 4B's range of inductive proximity sensors including the M100 Stopswitch, P100 Proxswitch, and P300 Proxswitch. Used on conveyors, bucket elevators and other rotating machinery, the HD Whirligig monitors shaft speed for continuous, low speed or high speed conditions. The sensor (sold separately) inserts into the housing of the HD Whirligig and the complete assembly bolts to the machines shaft through a 5/8” UNC tapped hole. Machine vibration or movement does not affect the performance of the sensor as the whole assembly moves with the shaft. The all stainless steel construction and sealed twin stainless steel bearings make the HD Whirligig ideal for use in corrosive and other extreme environments. With the HD Whirligig, sensor installation is now simple, safe and reliable.

4B Braime M100 Stopswitch

The M100 Stopswitch is a simple inductive shaft speed monitoring device. The self-contained unit has a single set point, which signals when the shaft has stopped rotating. It can be used for process control, motion detection and stopped shaft indication. An inductive sensing device located in the nose of the M100 enclosure will detect a metal target. This target can be an existing bolt head or device attached to a shaft. The M100 Stopswitch requires no calibration and provides an output when the shaft has stopped rotating.

4B Braime M1003 Stopswitch

It can be used for process control, motion detection and stopped shaft indication. An inductive sensing device located in the nose of the M100 enclosure will detect a metal target. This target can be an existing bolt head or device attached to a shaft. The M1003 Stopswitch requires no calibration and provides an output when the shaft has stopped rotating.

4B Braime M300 Slipswitch

The M300 Slipswitch is a simple inductive shaft speed monitoring device. The self-contained unit has a single set point, which signals when the shaft speed has dropped by 20% of normal running speed. It is used for detecting dangerous slow downs and underspeed on conveyors, bucket elevators, airlocks, mixers, fans, grinders and many other machines. An inductive sensing device located in the nose of the M300 enclosure will detect a metal target. This target can be an existing bolt head or device attached to a shaft. During installation the M300 is set to the normal machine shaft RPM by calibrating with the magnet provided. The internal microprocessor sets the underspeed output to operate at exactly 20% below normal machine shaft RPM. This allows the M300 output to be used for automatic shutdown of machinery during dangerous underspeed or belt slip conditions.

4B Braime M3003 Slipswitch

The M300 Slipswitch is an easy-to-use inductive proximity shaft speed monitoring device with an adjustable 0 - 30 second start-up delay, all housed in a 30 mm diameter moulded body. The self-contained unit has a single set point, which signals when the shaft speed has dropped by 20% of normal running speed. It is used for detecting dangerous slow down and underspeed conditions on conveyors, bucket elevators, air locks, mixers, fans, grinders and many other machines. No connection is necessary between the sensor and the equipment being monitored. The proximity sensor detects a stud or bolt mounted on a shaft, or other suitable target. Ideally, the target should be of ferrous metal, but non-ferrous metal will be detected at a shorter range. Maximum range of ferrous targets is 8 mm (5/16”) and for non-ferrous targets is 5 mm (6/16”), assuming a 20 mm (3/4”) diameter target. Smaller targets may be used but operating distances will be reduced.

4B Braime M800 Speed Switch

The M800 Elite Speed Switch is designed to detect belt slip, belt underspeed, stop motion, low speed or zero speed on bucket elevators, conveyors, airlocks, mixers, fans, grinders and many other rotating machines. Totally sealed and simple to calibrate, the M800 Elite works in the harshest of conditions. An inductive sensing device located in the nose of the M800 Elite enclosure will detect a metal target. This target can be an existing bolt head or device attached to a shaft. During installation the M800 Elite is set to the normal machine shaft RPM by calibrating with the magnet provided. The internal microprocessor sets the alarm and shutdown relays.

4B Braime Rotech Encoder – Stainless Steel

The 4B heavy duty stainless steel Rotech rotary shaft encoder is used primarily for protecting equipment and personnel from dangerous underspeed/belt slip conditions in extreme environments. Other applications include accurate speed control, direction of rotation detection, gate position indication and counting the number of revolutions of the shaft. An inductive sensing device in the body of the encoder detects a steel rotor. On slow speed or accurate position control, a photo diode detects the slots on a steel disk. One pulse is created for each rotor or slot so the unit can be connected directly to a PLC/computer or 4B control module. The shaft to be monitored is drilled and taped to take the 1/2 in. UNC Rotech Bolt. The unit is secured to the shaft with this bolt and is able to move with the shaft. No guards are required as the rotating components are encased inside the housing of the encoder. No brackets are required as the encoder couples directly to the end of the shaft and floats with the shaft.
